About the Artist
Born in 1974 and based in Whittlesey near Peterborough. James trained as a technical illustrator but by the time he left college in 1996 the industry had moved away from airbrushing onto computers. Not wishing to embrace this new medium he turned to fine art. He has since built a reputation for producing paintings, so detailed, they have often been mistaken for photographs. James achieves this stunning effect by mixing acrylic inks and gouache, applied with both paint brush and airbrush in his own distinctive style - this technique offers a different approach to a traditional landscape painting which sets James apart from most other artists.
