Foliage just about complete, just a few more branches and leaves to do being careful not to overdo and ruin the balance of the painting which I feel looks good. |

With the detail of the snow near complete I can now move on to paint all the intricate detail of all the foliage. Should anyone be wondering the location of this painting is Castor Hanglands Nr Peterborough. |

As you can see this is turning into yet another snow scene painting! It was not my intention to produce so many snow paintings as late but its just the way things how worked out! Still away to go anyway on this painting. |

Now back to my current painting Im working on, as you can see its taking good shape. The trees in the background which are about complete have been made up from a palette of more colours then I would normally use. You can see I have roughly started to paint some on the foliage in foreground which is currently looking a little crude having just removed some liquid mask. I will start to add detail on top and define some on the edges left by the mask next. |

![]() "Snow at Stowe" Some of my regular viewers to this page may have been wondering why I haven't uploaded a update to my latest painting for a while! Its not that I've been lazy or had artist block, the reason is I have had a commission to paint the above painting. The painting is set in the future (2014) as the train a 'Polaris' GNWR has yet to have been built. So as you can imagine not a easy subject to paint and there was the small matter of I had no reference to snow at this location (Stowe Hill, Weedon). Bearing all this in mind and the fact I was on a very tight deadline I feel its ended up being a very nice believable painting which Im really pleased with. If you follow the link above you will see that CSRE who commissioned this painting have produced this as a Limited Edition print with proceeds kindly going to the 'Railway Benefit Fund'. Anyway I will now jump back onto the painting below and will more post more updates after Christmas. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all my collectors and very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. |
