NEW painting complete "WINTER GAME"

"Winter Game"
Signed Limited Edition prints of this painting are now available.

Im really pleased with this painting, the overall feel and balance of the picture seems to work well. I initially called this painting "Winter Brace" but have changed the name to "Winter Game" as I come to realize that technically a brace of pheasants is in fact a male and a female and not any two pheasants as I first thought. Find below a few close ups of the detail.

Added the shadows in the foreground here with my airbrush. I get asked a lot what airbrush I use and on this painting I have used my Badger sotar 20/20 (imported from the usa) which is great for fine detail such as these shadows.

NEW painting 3rd stage

As you can see I have started to work on the foreground quite loosely. Next stage of this painting will see me add more detail and tighten up this part of the foreground which I have started.

NEW painting 2nd stage

This painting is coming together nice now. As well as adding more to the painting I have also softened and hit back the colours of the trees in the far distance, this has helped to bring forward the barn and trees surrounding it.

Working much smaller here than I normally do so this should speed up the overall process (hope to have it complete within next two weeks).
